Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The SAD group: (1)Meet the diagnostic criteria for Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD) as defined in the *Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition* (DSM-5); (2)Chinese Han nationality, age between 12 and 18 years old, no restriction on gender, being right-handed; (3)have received formal education in China for six years or more (4)written informed consent was obtained from both the patient and their legal guardian. The HC group: (1) Chinese Han nationality, age between 12 and 18 years old, no restriction on gender, being right-handed; (2) more than 6 years of education; (3) written informed consent was obtained from all participants and their legal guardians.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The SAD group: (1)current or past history of anxiety disorders; (2)history of severe physical and neurological disease; (3)current or past history of other psychiatric disorders; (4)severe impairment of liver or kidney function; (5)endocrine or metabolic diseases (e.g., diabetes mellitus, hyperthyroidism); (6)previous traumatic brain injury with loss of consciousness exceeding 30 minutes; (7)history of dependence on alcohol or other psychoactive substances (with the exception of nicotine, caffeine, or social drinking); (8)inability to complete sample collection or related examinations. The HC group: (1) current or any history of psychiatric disorders that meet DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and family history of psychiatric disorders; (2) concurrent severe somatic diseases or hepatic/renal impairment; (3)congenital or inherited metabolic disorders; (4)inability to cooperate with sample collection or related examinations.
