Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients must meet DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for depression, age range 18-65 years, be right-handed, and have no other serious medical conditions; The control group was matched in age and sex to the patient group. To ensure the accuracy of vision-related experiments, all participants must have normal or corrected visual acuity with an intact visual field.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Those who have received antidepressant treatment in the past six months, those with a history of neurological diseases or other psychiatric disorders, and those with a history of substance abuse will be excluded. Clinical assessments employ two standardized instruments: the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale and the Beck Depression Inventory, which are used to determine the participant's depression status and severity.
