Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients who meet the diagnostic criteria for epilepsy according to the ILAE-2017, and who have not achieved seizure freedom despite correctly using two or more tolerable antiepileptic drugs at sufficient doses and durations of therapy. The duration without seizures should be three times the longest seizure-free interval before treatment or one year (whichever is longer).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. age >65 or <14 years old 2. history of other serious systemic or neuro-psychological diseases 3. history of substance or alcohol abuse 4. not signed an informed consent form
