Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Preoperative Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE) score>24 points; 2. Age >= 65 years old; 3. Patientsundergoing elective non cardiac surgery; 4. The American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) grades I-III.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Have a history of severe neurological or psychiatric diseases; 2. Severe audio-visual impairment affecting the assessment; 3. History of sedative or antidepressant use; 4. Patients diagnosed with delirium by the Delirium Assessment Scale (CAM) preoperatively.
