Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Normal control group: (1) Fasting blood glucose 26 points; 2. T2DM without MCI group: (1) Consistent with the 2020 ADA (American Diabetes Association) diabetes diagnostic criteria: fasting plasma glucose (FPG) >= 7.0 mmol/L and HbA1c >= 6.5%, with 2-hour post-meal blood glucose >= 11.1 mmol/L; (2) Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) score > 26 points; 3. T2DM with MCI group: (1) Consistent with the 2020 ADA (American Diabetes Association) diabetes diagnostic criteria: fasting plasma glucose (FPG) >= 7.0 mmol/L and HbA1c >= 6.5%, with 2-hour post-meal blood glucose >= 11.1 mmol/L; (2) Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) score = 40 years T2DM group patients with a disease duration >= 3 years No significant language, visual, or auditory impairments Able to read and write independently Capable of cooperating with neuropsychological assessments Voluntarily participating in the study and signing informed consent Approved by the hospital’s ethics committee.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1)Diagnosed with type 1 or other forms of diabetes; (2)Experience of grade 2 hypoglycemia (<3.0 mmol/L); (3)Women within 6 months postpartum; (4)Severe dysfunction of the heart, lungs, liver, or kidneys significantly impacting quality of life; (5)Severe comorbid conditions (e.g., cancer, infection, severe anemia) or acute diabetic complications; (6)Recent stroke, transient ischemic attack (TIA), encephalitis, or head trauma; (7)Epilepsy, Parkinson’s, depression, or other serious psychiatric or neurological disorders; (8)Frequent alcohol abuse or recent use of cognitive-impairing substances; (9)Severe communication, hearing, or vision impairments; (10)Unqualified blood samples or incomplete clinical data.
