Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Enrollment criteria for the normal control group This project plans to recruit 40 normal elderly patients in outpatient clinics or physical examination centers. The enrollment criteria are as follows: (1) at least 6 years of education; (2) right-handed, aged between 50-85 years old; (3) MRI examination without lacunar cerebral infarction and patchy or diffuse leukoporosis; (4) No history of cerebrovascular disease; (5) cognitive assessment within the normal range; (6) normal nervous system function; (7) No mental disorders such as anxiety and depression. 2. CSVD enrollment criteria Subjects need to meet the inclusion criteria and do not meet the exclusion criteria. Inclusion Criteria: (1) at least 6 years of education; (2) right-handed, aged between 50-85 years old; (3) At least 1 month after clinical infarction; (4) Subcortical infarction and white matter hyperintensity on MRI; (5) Improved Rankin score= 3 points; (6) Subjects sign informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) white matter hyperintensity caused by non-vascular causes, such as: sarcoidosis, multiple sclerosis, cerebral radiotherapy, etc.; (2) cortical and/or cortical-subcortical non-lacunar regional cerebral infarction and watershed cerebral infarction; (3) Other cognitive dysfunction diseases with clear etiology, such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and normal intracranial pressure hydrocephalus. (4) Hypothyroidism, carbon monoxide poisoning, etc.; (5) severe depression (17-item HAMD score >=24 points); (6) Intracranial or extracranial vascular stenosis >=50%; (7) cardiogenic cerebral embolism; (8) Alcoholism or drug abuse, severe mental disorders; (9) Unable to complete neuropsychological assessment or MRI scan; (10) Diagnosis of dementia that meets the major diagnostic criteria for neurocognitive disorders (DSM-5). According to the results of cognitive assessment, patients with CSVD were divided into normal cognitive group and mild cognitive impairment group.
