Head and neck cancer, the seventh most common cancer globally, refers to malignant tumors originating in the lips, mouth, nasopharynx, oropharynx, hypopharynx, larynx, and salivary glands. Over 90% of head and neck cancers are squamous cell carcinomas. Smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, and HPV infection are recognized as the three major risk factors for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma who were diagnosed and treated at Shanghai Ninth hospital from 2000 to 2023; 2.The pathological diagnosis of the tumor conforms to the WHO Histology Codes 8070-8076 and 8078; the tumor location conforms to the ICD-O-3 Topography Codes, including the oral cavity, oropharynx, larynx, hypopharynx, and other parts of the head and neck. 3.The clinical staging of the tumor conforms to the AJCC TNM staging system criteria or can be staged accordingly; 4.Patients received one or multiple treatments including surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, or targeted therapy in our hospital; 5. Have complete and statistically available clinical inpatient records or diagnosis and treatment data.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients without any inpatient treatment or unknown methods; 2.Squamous cell carcinoma originating from the nasopharynx; 3.Cases with missing patient information in the pathology system or hospital medical record system, as well as missing clinical or critical data;
