Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Clinical diagnostic criteria (meeting any one of the following): (1) Fever (2) Elevated peripheral blood white blood cell count (3) Elevated serum C-reactive protein 2. Laboratory or imaging evidence (meeting any one of the following): (1) Visible purulent pleural effusion to the naked eye (2) Positive bacterial culture of pleural effusion (3) Bacteria seen on Gram staining of pleural effusion (4) Biochemical examination of pleural effusion: pH 1000 U/L and glucose <= 2.2 mmol/L (5) Enhanced CT shows: pleural infection (manifested as pleural effusion with lung consolidation and enhancement) and other infection sources have been excluded

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) <18 years old (2) Pulmonary resection was performed on the infected side (3) Can not obtain at the same time: pleural effusion routine examination, biochemical examination and etiological detection results (4) Lack of thoracic ultrasound data before thoracic drainage
