Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. patients were >=18 years old; 2. first total hip arthroplasty; 3. assessed as agoraphobic by the Agoraphobia Rating Scale (score >37); and 4. informed and volunteered to participate in this study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. history of previous psychiatric illness or cognitive impairment that prevents normal communication; 2. comorbid serious acute or chronic illness; 3. already participating in other studies.
