Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Experimental group: Patients aged >=18 years old and diagnosed with essential hypertension who were willing to be enrolled in this experiment with carotid artery ultrasound, CB activity detection and ambulate blood pressure monitoring as auxiliary examinations 2.Control group: healthy volunteers aged >=18 years 3.Patients who can understand the purpose of the trial, voluntarily participate and sign informed consent, and are willing to cooperate with clinical follow-up.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients with secondary hypertension 2.Type 1 diabetic 3.Carotid artery stenting or carotid artery dissection 4.carotid body tumor 5.Hypertensive patients during pregnancy 6.Patients who live at high altitudes for a long time 7.Patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, OSAS, interstitial lung disease and other serious lung diseases 8.Patients with severe heart failure 9.Any other conditions that the investigator did not consider appropriate to participate in the trial
