Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria for the study are as follows: (1) Participants must be newly diagnosed patients with moderate to severe carotid artery stenosis who have visited the specified hospitals between July 2022 and July 2024; (2) Participants must be aged 18 years or older, with no restrictions on gender; (3) All participants must have undergone both head and neck computed tomography angiography (CTA) and neck vascular ultrasound examinations; (4) The degree of carotid artery stenosis must be 50% or greater, as determined by head and neck CTA results; (5) Comprehensive cognitive and behavioral evaluations, along with complete clinical and imaging data, must be available for analysis.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria include: (1) individuals with a prior history of carotid artery stenting (CAS) or carotid endarterectomy (CEA); (2) patients presenting with concurrent intracranial tumors or intracranial arteriovenous malformations; and (3) cases of non-atherosclerotic vascular stenosis.
