Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged 12-17 years old, and had at least one parent or guardian able to attend all assessment and treatment sessions; 2. With a principal diagnosis of emotional and behavioral disorders based on the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, fifth edition (DSM-5) diagnosed by a child psychiatrist; 3. Currently were medication naïve or had stable medication use (stable dose of medication for at least one month before baseline assessment).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Schizophrenia, current mania episodes of bipolar disorder, autism spectrum disorders, intellectual disability, or substance abuse. 2. Serious suicidal risk at pretreatment. 3. Unstable physical conditions or emotional disorders caused by substance use. 4. Receiving systematic CBT at pretreatment.
