18 Years to 80 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged between 18 and 70 years old; 2. Non-restorable teeth requiring extraction due to various reasons, with existing bone defects or chronic inflammation at the extraction site, and planned for post-extraction implant surgery; 3. Presence of at least one adjacent tooth; 4. Proximal bone defect adjacent to the edentulous area (defect located on the edentulous side with a bone defect height >=2mm); 5. Complete clinical documentation, including preoperative, immediate postoperative, and 6-month postoperative CBCT imaging of the site.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Grade III mobility of the teeth adjacent to the edentulous area. 2. Recent history of head and neck radiation therapy or treatment with steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or bisphosphonates. 3. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. 4. Heavy smoking (>=10 cigarettes per day). 5. Poor oral hygiene with uncontrolled periodontal disease. 6. Failure to participate in follow-up or incomplete follow-up data.
