Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age >=60 years, BMI 18.5 to 26.0 kg/m^2, ASA class II or III, all unilateral hip fractures, undergoing artificial femoral head replacement or proximal femoral antirotation intramedullary nailing; operative time <=3 hours; and education sufficient to complete neuropsychological testing.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Non-first hip fracture; trauma from a car accident or multiple fractures; patients with severe dysfunction of vital organs such as the heart, liver, kidneys, or lungs; history of diabetes mellitus; history of mental illness; history of traumatic brain injury; sensory dysfunction or periapical conditions.
