Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients diagnosed with gastrointestinal diseases who are scheduled for elective surgery under general anesthesia. 2. Elderly patients aged =60 years who are transferred to the PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) for postoperative recovery after general anesthesia. 3. Patients who are awake after extubation in the anesthesia recovery room (as assessed by the RASS sedation scale) and report thirst or have a primary complaint of thirst. 4. Patients who have provided informed consent and are willing to fully express their true feelings of thirst. Patients who can clearly express themselves and engage in normal verbal communication postoperatively.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients who are directly transferred to the ward or ICU after surgery. 2. Patients who have a history of Sjogren's syndrome, oral diseases, dialysis, or long-term use of medications that inhibit salivation before admission. 3. Patients who are comatose or have mental disorders and are unable to communicate normally.
