Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1) A history of at least one severe ankle sprain, the first of which must have occurred at least 12 months prior to the intervention. (2) Recurrent sprains, self-perceived instability, or playing with a weak leg. (3) Cumberland Ankle Instability Assessment Questionnaire (CAIT) <24 points.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria: (1) concomitant lower extremity fracture, posterior cruciate ligament rupture, and other serious injuries to vital tissues; (2) MRI suggestive of an avulsion fracture at the ankle; and (3) a history of 2 or more CAI procedures or lower extremity fracture within 1 year.
