Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Planned elective non-cardiac surgery under general anesthesia, involving patients aged 65 and above, with an American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) classification of I to III, and an anticipated postoperative hospitalization duration of at least 3 days.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) Patients who lack the data required for the calculation of the perioperative triglyceride-glucose index; (2) Patients with a history of neurological and psychiatric disorders caused by dementia, delirium, or other etiologies; (3) Preoperative assessment of patients with cognitive dysfunction; (4) Patients admitted to the ICU postoperatively; (5) Patients scheduled for a second surgery within 7 days following their initial surgery; (6) Patients with a history of alcohol or drug dependency; (7) Patients who are currently using sedative or antidepressant medications, or who have recently used drugs that cross the blood-brain barrier; (8) Patients who are unwilling to cooperate with the investigation or are unable to do so due to communication difficulties, severe hearing or visual impairments.
