Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Meet the criteria for alcohol dependence (according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders 4th edition (DSM-IV)); 2. 18 to 65 years old, male, Han Chinese.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Have had or have had serious heart, brain, liver, kidney and other physical diseases and infectious diseases; 2. Past or existing immune system and metabolism-related diseases; 3. Previous or existing severe neurological disease; 4. Have used probiotics, prebiotics and any steroidal and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs daily for 2 months prior to enrollment; 5. Previous or existing schizophrenia, depression, anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, mental retardation, dementia (excluding mild cognitive impairment) and other substance dependence other than alcohol and nicotine diagnosed by DSM-IV; 6. Have engaged in work that affects the intestinal flora and have irregular eating habits that affect the intestinal flora in the past 2 months (except for alcohol factors); 7. Alcohol withdrawal has been more than 5 days.
