Interventions

self-compassion writing intervention group:Immediate expressive writing intervention on the theme of self-care, based on set instructions with conducting one, 15-30 minute writing session per day for
letter writing intervention group:Immediate expressive writing intervention in the form of a letter conversation, writing a letter to the deceased and imagining how the deceased would write back, and
waitlist control group:Waiting four days before conducting an expressive writing intervention, writing topics were randomly assigned

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Be at least 18 years old; (2) meeting the prolonged grief disorder symptom criteria (assessed by the Traumatic Grief Inventory-Self Report Plus (TGI-SR+) with a score of >= 67); (3) The bereavement experience has been met for more than 6 months.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) At high risk of suicide or self-harm. (2) Failed the lie-detection questions in the questionnaire, indicating that the questionnaire was not completed conscientiously. (3) Currently receiving systematic psychological intervention. (4) Grossly inattentive to completing the answer sheet or the writing task during the course of the process.
