Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1) Patients aged 18 or above admitted to ICU with sepsis or septic shock (sepsis-3.0); (2) Patients who have consented to pulse indicator continuous cardiac output (PICCO) monitor and cardiac ultrasound examine; (3) Informed consent provided by the patient or person with decisional responsibility.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Meet one of the following conditions: (1) Active diagnoses directly relating to myocardial dysfunction, such as acute myocardial infarction, myocarditis, myocardial effusion, unstable arrhythmia, and post-cardiopulmonary resuscitation status; (2) Previous history of significant underlying cardiac conditions, such as ischemic cardiac disease, congenital heart disease, severe valvular heart disease, and cardiomyopathy; (3) The cancer is terminal, and the expected survival time is <90 days; (4) The patient's clinical condition deteriorated rapidly and cardiac ultrasound could not be performed.
