Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patient Group: (1) Meet the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for obsessive-compulsive disorder through structured clinical interview (SCID-V); (2) Age between 10 to 18 years old; (3) Patients voluntarily participate in the study, have obtained family consent, and have signed an informed consent form; (4) Understand written language and are able to complete questionnaires; (5) Score of >=16 on the Children's Yale-Brown Obsessive-Compulsive Scale (CY-BOCS); (6) Han ethnicity, right-handed; (7) Have not taken any medication for the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder for at least 8 weeks prior to enrollment. Healthy Control Group: (1) Age between 10 to 18 years old; gender-matched with the patient group; (2) Voluntarily participate in the study, have obtained family consent, and have signed an informed consent form; (3) Understand written language and are able to complete questionnaires; (4) Han ethnicity, right-handed.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patient Group: (1) History of substance dependence; history of mental disorders that meet the SCID Axis I diagnostic criteria; history of brain trauma, epilepsy, or other organic brain diseases; (2) Laboratory tests indicate other severe physical diseases and metabolic disorders; (3) Use of probiotics, antibiotics, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or steroids within the last 8 weeks; (4) Pregnant or breastfeeding patients; (5) Comorbidities including diabetes, endocrine diseases (hyperthyroidism, Hashimoto's thyroiditis), cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases (hyperlipidemia, stroke), autoimmune diseases (inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, celiac disease, rheumatoid arthritis, Sjögren's syndrome), history of gastrointestinal surgery, or history of gastrointestinal infection within the last 3 months (appendectomy or cholecystectomy excluded); (6) Extreme diets, such as vegetarianism; (7) Significant changes in dietary structure or lifestyle within the last month before enrollment; (8) Color blindness. Healthy Control Group: (1) History of substance dependence; history of any mental disorders that meet the SCID Axis I or II diagnostic criteria; history of brain trauma, epilepsy, or other organic brain diseases; (2) Positive family history of mental illness in two generations and three degrees; (3) History of taking antipsychotic or antidepressant medications; use of probiotics, antibiotics, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or steroids within the last 8 weeks; (4) Comorbidities including diabetes, endocrine diseases (hyperthyroidism, Hashimoto's thyroiditis), cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases (hyperlipidemia, stroke), autoimmune diseases (inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, celiac disease, rheumatoid arthritis, Sjögren's syndrome), history of gastrointestinal surgery, or history of gastrointestinal infection within the last 3 months (appendectomy or cholecystectomy excluded); (5) Extreme diets, such as vegetarianism; (6) Significant changes in dietary structure or lifestyle within the last month before enrollment; (7) Pregnant or breastfeeding; (8) Color blindness.
