Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. age = 18 years; 2. infected or clinically suspected infected pancreatic necrosis, which is diagnosed according to the Revised Atlanta Criteria when imaging findings and/or bacterial culture results confirm: the presence of gas bubbles in the pancreas and/or peripancreatic tissues on computed tomography scan or a positive culture of the pancreas and/or peripancreatic necrotic tissues obtained by fine-needle aspiration, drainage, or necrotic tissue resection. Suspected infectious necrosis was defined as a patient presenting with persistent organ failure (respiratory, renal, circulation) or persistent worsening of at least two markers of inflammation (temperature >38.5°C , elevated C-reactive protein, or elevated white blood cells) for more than 3 days; 3. signed informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. History of chronic pancreatitis. 2. Drainage, debridement or surgery of necrotic pancreatic tissue already performed at another institution
