Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: CAI Basketball-Specific College Students Inclusion Criteria (1) Basketball-specific college students between the ages of 18 and 25 years old; (2) Had 2 or more recurrent unilateral ankle sprains in the last 2 years and complained of sensations of ankle instability or loss of control during daily functional activities (but no loss of function in the last 6 weeks); (3) No other intervention or treatment during the study period; (4) A history of prior injury to the ankle joint of "dorsiflexion" and/or repetitive sprains and/or "sensation of instability"; (5) Availability of complete fNIRS data; (6) A negative anterior ankle drawer test on the affected side; (7) Cumberland Ankle Instability Tool (CAIT) score = 24; No CAI basketball-specific college student inclusion criteria: (1) No history of sprains in either ankle; (2) No instability or "yielding" of either ankle; (3) CAIT score = 28.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) Presence of serious injury, fracture, sensory impairment of the lower extremity other than chronic ankle instability, etc. (2) Presence of history of major diseases such as tumor, terminal cancer, etc. (3) History of neurological or psychiatric disorders.
