Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion Criteria for Metabolic Abnormality-Related Obesity (MAO): 1.Hospitalized patients who have been diagnosed with obesity and related metabolic syndromes and are scheduled to undergo bariatric surgery for weight reduction. 2.Patients who have agreed to participate and signed the informed consent form. 3.Age range: 18-60 years old. 4.Body Mass Index (BMI) >= 32.5 kg/m². 5.Homeostatic Model Assessment of Insulin Resistance (HOMA-IR) > 2.69. 6.Meeting two or more of the following four criteria: (1) Systolic Blood Pressure (SBP) >= 130 mmHg or Diastolic Blood Pressure (DBP) >= 85 mmHg, or being on antihypertensive medication. (2) Fasting Blood Glucose (FBG) >= 5.6 mmol/L or Glycated Hemoglobin (HbA1c) >= 6.0%, or being on hypoglycemic medication. (3) Elevated Triglycerides (TG) with TG >= 1.7 mmol/L, or being on lipid-lowering medication. (4) Male patients with High-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol (HDL-C) = 32.5 kg/m². 5.HOMA-IR = 1.03 mmol/L or female patients with HDL-C >= 1.29 mmol/L, with no use of lipid-lowering medication. Inclusion Criteria for the Metabolically Healthy and Normal Weight Group (MHNW): 1.Hospitalized patients who are scheduled to undergo surgical treatment for benign liver diseases. 2.Age range: 18-60 years old. 3.BMI within the normal range: 18.5 kg/m² = 1.03 mmol/L or female patients with HDL-C >= 1.29 mmol/L, with no use of lipid-lowering medication.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Acute cerebrovascular disease (within 6 months) 2.History of previous autoimmune diseases 3.Long-term use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, glucocorticoids, or immunosuppressive drugs 4.Pregnancy or suspected pregnancy 5.Concurrent with other endocrine diseases 6.Acute infections, such as acute cholecystitis, appendicitis, pancreatitis, acute upper respiratory tract infection, acute urinary tract infection, acute abdominal infection, and acute gastroenteritis (within 2 weeks) 7.History of previous malignancy 8.Use of antibiotics within the last 3 months (lasting for more than 3 days) 9.Acute myocardial infarction (within 6 months) 10.Chronic inflammatory digestive disorders, such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis
