Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria for the population not susceptible to COVID-19: (1) Age>= 18 years, regardless of gender; (2) High risk of clinical exposure to COVID-19 since December 1, 2022, as determined by comprehensive analysis including epidemiological history, clinical manifestations, laboratory examinations, and negative results for SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid or antigen tests; (3) No respiratory infection-related symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, etc. in the past 3 weeks; (4) Written informed consent obtained from the subject to participate in the study. Inclusion criteria for confirmed COVID-19 patients: (1) Age >=18 years, regardless of gender; (2) Confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 according to the "Diagnosis and Treatment Protocol for Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia (Trial 10th Edition)" issued by the National Health Commission of China, based on comprehensive analysis including epidemiological history, clinical manifestations, laboratory examinations; (3) Onset within 1 week, with mild or moderate clinical classification; (4) Written informed consent obtained from the subject to participate in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Individuals with chronic respiratory system-related diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pulmonary fibrosis, bronchial asthma, obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome, or a history of pulmonary surgery; (2) Those with concomitant cardiovascular, hepatic, renal, hematological, or neurological disorders; malignant tumors; or immunosuppression (including the use of immunosuppressive agents or HIV infection-induced immunodeficiency); (3) Those with concomitant common cold or influenza, as well as other upper respiratory tract infections such as acute pharyngitis, tonsillitis, rhinitis, and sinusitis, and lower respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia and bronchitis, induced by influenza; (4) Those with severe gastrointestinal diseases, who have experienced severe diarrhea (more than 3 watery stools per day for 3 or more consecutive days) and constipation (less than 2 bowel movements per week with difficulty in defecation) in the past 3 weeks; (5) Individuals with excessive obesity (BMI > 28.0 kg/m2), pregnant or lactating women; (6) Those with poor compliance who are unable to cooperate with clinical observation and specimen collection; (7) Those who have dropped out clinically due to other factors.
