Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Upon waking, there is a sensation of stiffness in the hindfoot, which gradually transitions to pain during physical activity. 2.Arc Sign test is positive (the swollen area moves with dorsiflexion and plantarflexion). 3.Royal London Hospital test is positive (pain at the proximal 3 cm of the heel during slight plantarflexion of the ankle joint and pain is reduced with ankle joint dorsiflexion is considered positive, ). 4.Achilles Tendon Palpation test is positive. 5.Pain is at 2–7 cm from the insertion onto the calcaneus. When medical history and physical examination are inconclusive for the diagnosis of Achilles Tendinopathy (AT), imaging studies are necessary. Ultrasound can assist in diagnosis when clinical examination findings are insufficient, revealing an increased thickness of the affected Achilles tendon or the presence of neovascularization.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Insertional Achilles Tendinopathy 2.Concurrently diagnosed with plantar fasciitis, acute Achilles tendonitis, or other conditions that may affect ultrasound examination results, or comorbidities such as gout, ankylosing spondylitis. 3.History of partial or complete rupture of the Achilles tendon. 4.History of Achilles tendon surgery. 5.Skin trauma and ulceration at the affected foot that precludes ultrasound examination. 6.Inability to accurately diagnose chronic Achilles tendinopathy or incomplete data. 7.Patients with hypertension, heart disease. 8.Lower limb deep vein thrombosis or vascular diseases and other contraindications for blood flow restriction .
