Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: DoC group can be defined as follows: 1) Patients between the ages of 18 and 65 years; 2) SCS surgery; 3) Tracheotomy; 4) Patients with a diagnosis of VS or MCS (traumatic, stroke*, hypoxia and toxic/metabolic brain injury). In this context, the term "stroke" encompasses a range of conditions, including ischemic stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, and non-invasive cerebral hemorrhage. The intravertebral occupancy group is defined as follows: The subjects were between the ages of 18 and 65 years old, underwent vertebral occupancy resection, and remained conscious throughout the procedure.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: The DoC group was comprised of individuals who exhibited single or multiple organ failure, as well as those who demonstrated combined severe hypertension, cardiac, pulmonary, hepatic, and renal impairment. Additionally, this group included individuals whose legal guardians had declined to participate in the study, as well as those who were lost to follow-up (i.e., those who had died). The intravertebral occupancy group : history of cranial surgery; history of cerebrovascular disease; and those who refused to participate in this study.
