Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: a. Patients with malignant tumors in the head, neck, or facial region; b. Significant tissue defect after wide excision of the primary lesion that cannot be directly sutured; preoperative assessment indicates that the free forearm flap is insufficient to repair the defect area; c. Suitable for repair with a rectus femoris flap or a free fibula flap for soft and hard tissue reconstruction; d. Both lower limbs should be free of trauma or surgical history; e. The overall health condition should be good, and the patient must be able to tolerate anesthesia.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: a. Patients for whom the tissue defect in the head, neck, or facial region is expected to be manageable with primary closure or repairable with a forearm flap; b. History of surgery or trauma in both lower limbs; c. Overall health condition that does not permit tolerance of anesthesia; d. History of trauma or surgery in both lower limbs.
