Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Age = 18 years Admitted to the ICU with severe illness Received proton pump inhibitor (PPI) therapy for more than 48 hours and had a nasogastric tube (NG tube) inserted
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: History of gastrointestinal diseases, history of gastrointestinal surgery, allergy or intolerance to proton pump inhibitors, patients who do not use a gastric tube during the course of the disease, use of other medications that affect gastric pH, or refusal of the patient or family to participate in the study
