Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: patients clinically diagnosed as AECOPD upon admission, along with respiratory failure, intubation withdrawal plan, or stable disease with NIV treatment
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) Severe pneumonia, accompanied by pulmonary infiltration affecting more than 2 lung segments or 1 lobe of the lung. 2) coma patients 3) Recent upper respiratory tract surgery or facial trauma 4) Severe Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome 5) Severe arrhythmias or acute coronary syndrome 6) Cardiac arrest with respiration cessation, weak autonomous breathing, paradoxical respiration, or hemodynamic instability due to respiratory failure, or other patients who require urgent tracheal intubation and invasive mechanical ventilation. 7) Severe Type I respiratory failure (PaO2/FiO2 < 100 mmHg) or severe ventilatory dysfunction (pH < 7.30) 8) Poor airway protection capability, with a high risk of aspiration. 9) Severe nasal congestion 10) Patients who refuse to participate in the study or in other research.
