Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1) Age 18-75 years, regardless of sex; 2) Meet the Rome IV diagnosis of functional constipation: 1) Must include 2 or more of the following: more than 25% of bowel movements feel laboured, more than 25% of bowel movements are dry bulbous stools or hard stools, more than 25% of bowel movements feel incomplete, more than 25% of bowel movements feel like anorectal obstruction and/or clogging, more than 25% of bowel movements require manipulative assistance (e.g., finger More than 25% of the bowel movements require manual assistance (e.g., finger assistance, pelvic floor support), and less than 3 bowel movements per week. ? Rarely have loose stools when laxatives are not used. ? Symptoms have been present for at least 6 months prior to diagnosis, and the above diagnostic criteria have been met for the last 3 months. (3) Have the autonomy to complete the signing of the informed consent form as required, and be able to complete the gastrointestinal symptom scoring, methane and hydrogen breath test, and colonic transport test independently or with the help of the investigator.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) a clear history of intestinal disease (intestinal malignancy, diverticulum, intestinal stenosis or obstruction, megacolon, postoperative colorectal surgery, intestinal torsion, rectal bulge, rectal prolapse, third-degree haemorrhoids, anal fissure, perianal abscesses and fistulae, perianal raphe syndrome, and spasmodic anorectal pain, etc.); 2) a clear history of abdominal surgery (gastrointestinal resection, appendicectomy, cholecystectomy, etc.); 3) a clear history of endocrine and metabolic (3) a clear history of endocrine and metabolic diseases (severe dehydration, diabetes mellitus, hypothyroidism, hyperparathyroidism, multiple endocrine adenomas, heavy metal poisoning, severe electrolyte disorders, porphyria, chronic kidney disease, uremia, etc.); (4) a clear history of neurological diseases (autonomic neuropathy, cognitive disorders or dementia, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, spinal cord injuries, etc.); (5) a clear history of muscular diseases (amyloidosis) (5) A clear history of muscle disease (amyloidosis, dermatomyositis, scleroderma, systemic sclerosis, etc.); (6) Difficulty in expiration due to respiratory disease, or inability to fast and abstain from water for an extended period of time, etc., preventing the completion of the methane and hydrogen breath test; (7) Women who are preparing for, or during pregnancy, or breastfeeding, or who are generally poorly adherent, or who have been excluded in the opinion of the investigator; and (8) Those who have recently participated in a clinical trial.
