Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Criteria for enrolment in the depression group: 1. First visit to the clinic,meeting the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for depressive disorders, with the diagnosis made by two psychiatrists, one of whom was an attending physician and the other an associate or chief physician; 2. age between 18 and 60 years old; 3. HAMD-17 total score = 14 at baseline; 4. patients voluntarily accepted the test and signed the informed consent form for the study and the privacy protection agreement; 5. ability to complete the questionnaire and psychological assessment of reading and writing. Criteria for the control group: 1. Age 18-60 years old; 2. HAMD-17 total score <14 at baseline; 3. Patients voluntarily accepted the test and signed the study informed consent and privacy protection agreement; 4. Literacy for completing the questionnaire and psychological assessment.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria for the depression group: 1. other mental disorders that meet the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria, including organic mental disorders, psychoactive substance-induced psychiatric disorders, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, autism spectrum disorders, etc. (except for anxiety disorders); 2. patients with a history of severe neurological disorders (including epileptic seizures, brain injuries, multiple sclerosis, degenerative disorders such as acute lateral sclerosis, Parkinson's disease and movement disorders, etc.); 3. Currently suffering from serious unstable physical diseases, such as diabetes mellitus, thyroid disease, hypertension, heart disease, and narrow-angle glaucoma. Exclusion criteria for the control group: 1. patients with bipolar disorder, currently suffering from depressive episodes; 2. patients with a history of severe neurological disorders (including epileptic seizures, brain injury, multiple sclerosis, degenerative diseases such as acute lateral sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and movement disorders); 3. patients currently suffering from severe and unstable physical illnesses, such as diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders, hypertension, cardiac disease, and narrow-angle glaucoma.
