Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Male or female aged 18~75 years old; 2. Prediabetes as defined by the 2023 ADA criteria, meet any of the following: i) impaired fasting blood glucose: fasting blood glucose 5.6-6.9 mmol/L; ii) impaired glucose tolerance: blood glucose value 7.8-11.0 mmol/L 2 hours after oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT); iii) elevated glycosylated hemoglobin: HbA1c 5.7-6.4%; 3. Clearly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) for no more than 1 year and not treated with oral hypoglycemic drugs or insulin injections, and the diagnostic criteria for T2DM meet any of the following criteria: i) HbAc ?6.5%; ii) fasting blood glucose ?7.0 mmol/1 or OGTT2 h blood glucose ?11.1 mmol/l; iii) random blood glucose ? 11.1 mmol/L in patients with typical hyperglycemia or hyperglycemic crisis; 4. BMI=18 kg/m2; 5. Agree to participate in the project and sign the informed consent form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Severe cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases; 2. Use of drugs that may affect the measurement results of AGEs in the past 3 months(eg, potent corticosteroids, immunomodulators); 3. Special physiological state: pregnant, lactating women, or planning pregnancy within the next 6 months; 4. Recent medical intervention: have undergone major surgery, serious trauma or physical presence within the past 6 months wounds that have not fully healed; 5. Unable to complete all necessary tests (e.g., OGTT, blood sample collection, cutaneous AGEs measurements).
