Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) a history of chronic lateral elbow pain that hampers daily life, (2) failure of more than 6 months of conservative treatment, (3) significant signs at physical examination, including tenderness at the origin of common extension tendon and pain with resisted wrist extension, (4) obvious tears in the common extension tendon insertion on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) a history of elbow surgery (previous lateral epicondylitis surgery, elbow fracture, and chondral or osteochondral lesions), (2) other surgeries concurrent with lateral epicondylitis, (3) other comorbidities of the upper limbs, (4) Uncontrolled systemic disease such as infection or tumors, and (5) Unwilling or refusing to participate in researchers
