Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Men under 75 years old and women under 70 years old; Body mass index (BMI) less than 30; Ability to engage in light physical activity without limitations on daily activities; Absence of underlying diseases such as diabetes or coronary heart disease; Pulmonary function results: FEV1 greater than or equal to 50%; Complete blood count showing a normal platelet count; Liver and kidney function and electrolytes within normal limits; the electrocardiogram is essentially normal; Admission ultrasound examination indicates moderate or more pleural effusion. Diagnostic Criteria: Malignant Pleural Effusion: Clinically confirmed and pathologically diagnosed as lung adenocarcinoma. The biochemical examination of pleural effusion meets the Light criteria for exudate, and cytological examination shows adenocarcinoma cells. Benign Pleural Effusion: Includes: A. Inflammatory Pleural Effusion: Clinical presence of pulmonary inflammatory disease, lacking evidence of malignant pleural effusion (such as cytology/pathology and malignant tumor-related indicators). The biochemical examination of pleural effusion meets the Light criteria for exudate. After appropriate treatment, the pleural fluid is absorbed, and follow-up shows no tumor occurrence for more than six months. B. Tuberculous Pleural Effusion: Diagnosed as tuberculous pleural effusion through clinical assessment and pleural biopsy, lacking evidence of malignant pleural effusion. The biochemical examination of pleural effusion meets the Light criteria for exudate. After standardized anti-tuberculosis treatment, clinical symptoms resolve, pleural fluid is absorbed, and follow-up shows no recurrence or tumor occurrence for more than six months. C. Transudative Pleural Effusion: Presence of heart failure, liver cirrhosis, or hypoalbuminemia, without evidence of malignant pleural effusion. The biochemical examination of pleural effusion meets the Light criteria for transudate.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients with severe cardiovascular or cerebrovascular diseases, or comorbidities such as diabetes; Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals; Individuals with mental illness or those who abuse alcohol or other addictive substances that impair judgment; Patients with other cancers that influence the expression of TKT and HK2; Individuals who have participated in other clinical trials within the past three months.
