Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Adolescents -Group A (with SIB in the past two years): (a) Aged between 12-19 years, (b) able to read and speak Chinese during the consent process, (c) has a history of suicidal behavior (e.g., suicidal ideation, attempts) in the past two years, is a current student at a local school, and (d) can provide consent and obtain parental/guardian consent (if under 18 years old). - Group B (without SIB in the past two years): (a) Aged between 12-19 years, (b) able to read and speak Chinese during the consent process, (c) has no history of suicidal behavior (e.g., suicidal ideation, attempts) in the past two years, is a current student at a local school, and (d) can provide consent and obtain parental/guardian consent (if under 18 years old). 2. Caregivers: (a) Aged 18 years or older, (b) able to read Chinese, (c) is the primary caregiver of the participating adolescents in the school, and (d) willing to discuss perceived needs related to adolescent risk prevention. 3. Teachers: (a) Aged 18 years or older, (b) able to read Chinese, and (c) is a full-time teacher at the participating school.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. **Adolescents**: (a) Recent crisis status: Adolescents with suicidal ideation within the past month; a MINIKID suicide risk score of high risk (greater than 16). (b) Mental illness: Diagnosed with severe mental disorders (e.g., schizophrenia) that may affect the interview process or results. (c) Other interventions: Currently receiving intensive psychological intervention or treatment (e.g., intensive inpatient treatment) that may impact their ability to participate. (d) Cognitive impairment: Significant cognitive or comprehension difficulties that prevent effective participation in the interview. 2. **Caregivers**: (a) Caregivers under 18 years old. (b) Unable to read or speak Chinese. (c) Caregivers are not the primary caregivers of the participating adolescents in the school. (d) Caregivers are unwilling or unable to participate in discussions related to adolescent risk prevention. (e) Caregivers have severe mental health issues that may affect their ability to participate in discussions based on the nature of the study. 3. **Teachers**: (a) Teachers under 18 years old. (b) Teachers unable to read or speak Chinese. (c) Temporary or part-time teachers. (d) Lacking sufficient teaching experience. (e) Have severe mental health issues that may affect their ability to participate in the study. We will not exclude adolescents at risk of suicide. If suicidal risk is identified during assessment, intervention, or withdrawal from the interview, research assistants or interveners (e.g., teachers) will conduct a risk assessment and take appropriate actions with the support of mental health professionals.
