Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1) age >=18 years; (2) diagnosis of OSA and refusing CPAP therapy, oral appliances, or surgery. OSA was diagnosed according to the International Classification of Sleep Disorders-3 diagnostic criteria; (3) voluntary participation with signed informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) unwillingness or inability to provide written informed consent; (2) presence of combined craniofacial malformations, regular use of hypnotic medications, hypothyroidism, previous stroke, neuromuscular disease, severe heart disease (New York Heart Association class III-IV), or severe obstructive nasal disease; (3) other types of sleep-disordered breathing, such as central sleep apnea or obesity hypoventilation syndrome (body mass index>30 kg/m2 and an awake resting carbon dioxide partial pressure >45 mmHg at sea level, after excluding other causes of hypoventilation).
