Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1) meeting the DSM-5 criteria for mild or moderate depression; (2) aged between 12 and 18 years; (3) not receiving medication or having been on stable medication for at least two weeks prior to and throughout the study; (4) not having received psychotherapy, or not having received psychotherapy for at least two months before the study.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) comorbidding anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or other psychiatric disorders; major depressive disorder with psychotic symptoms such as hallucinations; (2) moderate to high suicide risk; (3) severe functional impairment that precludes the ability to complete psychological therapy; (4) substance abuse or dependence on psychoactive substances.
