Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Patients with chronic disorders of consciousness due to cerebral hemorrhage, diagnosed according to the 'Chinese Expert Consensus on Diagnosis and Treatment of Chronic Disorders of Consciousness' by the Chinese Medical Doctor Association (Chinese Journal of Neuromedicine, 2020): A state of loss of consciousness lasting more than 28 days after severe brain injury, with preserved basic brainstem reflexes and sleep-wake cycles, spontaneous or stimulus-induced eye opening, but no conscious content; or patients with severe brain injury showing clear but discontinuous and fluctuating signs of consciousness; (2) Diagnosed as VS (Vegetative State) or MCS (Minimally Conscious State) according to the revised Coma Recovery Scale (CRS-R) for 28 days to 3 months, first onset, and with stable vital signs; (3) No obvious cerebral edema found on CT or MR examination; (4) Legal guardian agrees and signs the informed consent form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Presence of contraindications for peripheral magnetic stimulation, such as cardiac pacemakers or metal implants in the right upper limb; (2) Presence of other diseases causing disorders of consciousness, such as severe acute infections, endocrine and metabolic disorders, space-occupying brain diseases, or water and electrolyte balance disorders; (3) Patients with a tendency for recurrent cerebral hemorrhage; (4) Presence of other factors affecting consciousness changes (such as high or low blood sugar, electrolyte imbalance, infections, etc.).
