Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Age is between 2 and 16 years. (2) Meets the diagnostic criteria for ASD in the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-V), as well as the diagnostic criteria for the Autism Diagnostic Observation Scale (ADOS), and the Critical Autism Rating Scale (CARS). (3) No behavioral treatment in the last 6 months. Those who have received medication are required to maintain a consistent medication regimen for at least one month prior to study enrollment and throughout the trial. (4) No absolute and relative contraindications to repeat transcranial magnetic stimulation (including: the presence of cochlear or intracranial implants, high cranial pressure, intracranial infections, acute stages of bleeding disorders, history or family history of epilepsy, and comorbidities with other acute and unstable medical conditions). (5) No previous history of traumatic brain injury or surgery.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Comorbidity with other neurological or psychiatric disorders, inherited metabolic disorders. (2) Severe hearing or vision impairment. (3) Inability to cooperate with the examination or evaluation due to, for example, severe cognitive impairment. (4) History of seizures, presence of metal in the skull, history of severe head injury, and implanted medical devices (e.g., pacemakers).
