Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) proposed surgery (Beijing Jishuitan Hospital, Capital Medical University: orthopaedics; Beijing Hospital: cardiology and vascular surgery; Peking University People's Hospital: thoracic surgery); 2) patients with co-morbid chronic diseases and a history of long-term medication use and the number of medications >= 3 or are using medications that need to be discontinued prior to the surgery; and 3) patients signing an informed consent form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) patients with deafness, mental retardation, severe visual impairment, or other conditions that interfere with communication; 2) other conditions that the researcher considers inappropriate for participation in the study.
