Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Age 18-50; 2. PSQI score > 7 and ISI > 11; 3. meet the criteria for insomnia after a structured DSM-5 interview; 5. objective sleep duration of less than 7 hours (assessed by sleep EEG) 6. no neurological or psychiatric disorders 7. no other sleep disorders (e.g., sleep-related movement disorders, hypersomnia, or sleep abnormalities)
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. metal implants in the body (e.g., pacemakers, stents, inner ear hearing aids, or other metal objects); 2. a history of seizures; 3. women who are pregnant or breastfeeding or menstruating or taking hormones; 4. structural brain damage detected by cranial MRI scan; 5. inability to fulfil the two-week washout period for various reasons prior to the start of the study; 6. the presence of other circumstances that prevented completion of the task, such as the inability to perform the tDCS intervention.
