Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Indications for patients with carotid endarterectomy were determined by angiography:patients with carotid artery stenosis of more than 70% and no symptoms or only mild headache symptoms, the patient with carotid artery stenosis of more than 50% and obvious symptoms; (2) Age:18~70,gender was not limited; (3) ASA classification: II ~ ?, NYHA cardiac function classification: II ~ ?; (4) Written informed consent and assent were obtained from patients.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Patients with contraindications for carotid endarterectomy were precluded beforehand: patients with acute massive cerebral infarction, liver, kidney and lung failure and other organs that cannot undergo surgey, patients with active inflammation on the surgical position; (2) Patients were suffering from Severe neurological dysfunction, cognitive dysfunction or mental illness; (3) Patients had a previous history of carotid artery, surgery or serious trauma or major surgery(within 3 months; (4) Patients had a previous history of hypersensitivity to the anaesthetic drug; (5) MMSE score adjusted for education was below 24 ; (6) Patient or family refused to be involved in the study.
