Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged 65 years or older and not in full-time employment 2. Older adults who do not meet the World Health Organization guidelines on physical activity for older adults 3. Living in the community rather than in a hospital or nursing home 4. Planning to reside in the target area for at least 12 months 5. Willing to give informed consent to be randomized and willing to follow the study protocol
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Older adults who are unable to walk 100m (use of walking sticks is acceptable) 2. Have difficulties in communicating with the study personnel due to hearing problems, speaking, cognitive decline and other reasons 3. Participate in other similar clinical studies 4. Unable to schedule time for weekly exercise classes 5. Severe bone or joint disease that restricts exercise, including a fracture of the upper and lower limbs within 3 months, a fracture of the spine within 6 months, or preparation for orthopedic surgery on the knee or hip 6. Sever Lung disease requiring supplemental oxygen 7. Sever Renal disease requiring dialysis 8. Severe cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases with: 1) Chest pain or severe shortness of breath when walking 100-200 meters or up stairs 2) Implantable cardiac defibrillator (ICD) 3) Previous history of cardiac arrest or heart attack within the last 3 months 4) Received heart surgery such as valve replacement and heart bypass within 6 months 5) Unstable angina pectoris, severe arrhythmia that restricts exercise, or a 3-month history of transient ischemic attack 9. diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and other psychiatric disorders 10. Suffering from terminal illness 11. Other clinical diseases were not suitable to participate after the judgment of the physician
