Interventions

Intravenous anesthesia group:Continuous intravenous infusion of propofol

Inhaled anesthesia group:Sevoflurane is continuously inhaled through an anesthesia machine

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) ASA physical status classification I to III; (2) Age = 12 years old; (3) Scheduled for elective general anesthesia for tonsillectomy and/or adenoidectomy.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Congenital diseases or abnormal liver/kidney function; (2) Chronic pulmonary diseases (cystic fibrosis, bronchial dysplasia, pulmonary arterial hypertension, etc.); (3) Severe upper respiratory tract infection before surgery; (4) Neuromuscular diseases, cerebral palsy, epilepsy; (5) Already intubated or underwent tracheostomy; (6) Planned postoperative admission to the ICU; (7) Difficult airway; (8) The attending anesthesiologist recommends a specific anesthesia maintenance plan and random allocation is not recommended; (9) Refusal of participation by family members or guardians.
