Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1: Adult patients requiring mechanical ventilation admitted to the ICU from September 2024 to August 2025. Age = 18 years old 2: Expected ICU stay>7 days 3: Mechanical ventilation patients with CUFF tracheal intubation or tracheotomy 4: Expected mechanical ventilation time>7 days 5: FiO2=0.5; Patients with metabolic monitoring needs.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1: Clinicians determine that indirect heat measurement is not appropriate 2: Patients with extensive burns (area>10%) 3: Severe liver failure or liver dysfunction (Child Pugh C grade, bilirubin>50umol/l, ALT = 3 times normal) 4: Patients requiring ECMO support or NO treatment 5: Diabetes ketoacidosis, hyperosmolar coma 6: Pregnant women 7: Near death state (severe disturbances in breathing, circulation, and internal environment) 8: Metabolic disease patients 9: Patients with endocrine crisis (such as hyperthyroidism crisis, adrenal crisis, etc.) 10: Unable to obtain informed consent.
