Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Clinical evidence of infection (assessed by the competent physician, evidence of infection includes fever, elevated inflammatory markers such as CRP, elevated white blood cells) , and the presence of pleural effusion, the characteristics of pleural fluid were as follows: macroscopic purulent, bacterial culture positive, gram positive, or ph < 7.2(blood gas analysis) .
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Age < 18 years; 2. Clinical consideration of tuberculous pleurisy; 3. Combined with pleural malignant tumor.
