Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1 .children aged 4-6 years with no previous experience in dental treatment, 2. children with at least one lesion diagnosed as deep caries in the mandibular primary molars and requiring local anesthesia for pain control, who have radiographically healthy pulp, no disease root or internal resorption; 3. children scored higher than 38 points on the Child Fear Questionnaire-dental subscale (CFSS-DS) , indicating fear of teeth; 4. physically healthy with no history of systemic disease or allergy; 5. parents or guardians who can read, understand and complete the questionnaire.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. children with physical or mental disabilities; 2. children who are unwilling to participate in the study or otherwise unable to complete the survey; 3. children who have had dental treatment experience.
