Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1) Patients diagnosed as drug-resistant epilepsy; 2) Patients who require implantation of depth electrodes with at least one electrode contact passes through the claustrum and successfully implements functional electrical stimulation; 3) Wechsler Intelligence Scale for clinical evaluation before admission and memory score more than 60; 4) Possess normal communication skills; 5) Aged 8 to under 65 years old.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) Presence of significant malformations or abnormalities in brain structure; 2) Previous history of craniotomy or intracranial electrode implantation surgery; 3) Strong adverse reactions to functional electrical stimulation, such as palpitations, fear, and epileptic seizures; 4) Presence of other comorbidities, already having or requiring the implantation of cardiac pacemakers, defibrillators, and cochlear implants, etc.; 5) Serious heart, liver, kidney physical diseases or severe or progressive neurological and psychiatric diseases with severe arrhythmia, QTc>450ms; transaminase exceeding the upper limit of normal values (0-40U/L) by three times, total bilirubin (3.4-17.1 µ mol/L), creatinine (44-133umol/L) exceeding the upper limit of normal values by 1.5 times, or creatinine clearance rate<45ml/min.
