Control group:None
Periodontal treatment group:Administer Dydrogesterone tablets (10 mg) orally starting from the 15th day of the menstrual cycle, twice daily, for 10 days each month.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion Criteria: 1. Diagnosis of moderate to severe periodontitis according to the "2017 World Workshop on the Classification of Periodontal and Peri-implant Diseases and Conditions" (Tonetti et al., 2018); 2. A clear diagnosis in the progesterone group, requiring treatment with oral progesterone for at least 3 months; 3. A minimum of 20 natural teeth (excluding third molars) in the oral cavity; 4. No other diseases requiring concurrent medication.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion Criteria: 1. History of periodontal treatment within the past year; 2. History of using antibiotics and/or immunosuppressants within the past six months; 3. History of systemic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, joint diseases, bone metabolic diseases, and/or malignant tumors; 4. Patients with oral mucosal diseases; 5. Patients with orthodontic appliances in the mouth.
